Tao Tan Pai Qigong

OCTOBER 1 – 3:

I.    Flying Phoenix Qigong:

Ehrmei Mountain Flying Phoenix Celestial Healing Qigong (“Ehrmeishan Fei Feng San Gung”) is a purely healing or medical Qigong system–that imparts tangible energizing and rejuvenating effects that set on with remarkable swiftness (relative to the universe of yogic arts), and provides health benefits that are repeatable, verifiable, and lasting. Thought by China’s Tai Chi/Qigong cognoscenti to have been lost forever as result of the Cultural Revolution, Sifu Terry Dunn is the sole seventh generation preserver of this art.

“Flying Phoenix Qigong practice significantly elevates parasympathetic tone.  90 minutes of practice of this Qigong is restorative in real time and over time afterwards.”

 – Yetsa A. Tuakli-Wosornu, M.D., M.P.H., IOC Dip. Sp. Med.  Assistant Clinical Professor, Yale School of Public Health Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology

This 16-hour immersive workshop over the 2.5 days will teach you the entire basic level of Flying Phoenix Qigong

OCTOBER 22 – 24

II.    Tao Tan Pai (“Taoist Elixir Method”) Qigong – Basic 31 Meditations

The “Tao Tan Pai 31″is the first of six levels of a complete and authentic Taoist monastic system of martial, yogic, healing, and spiritual arts that was created during the Tang Dynasty and is attributed to Taoist Immortal (saint) Lu Deng Bin.  The 31 Exercises consist of 15 standing moving meditations and 16 seated meditations, all of which involve movement except three:  Candle Meditation, the Earth Meditation, and the Sky Meditation.

TTP-31 is a system of moving meditation and breath control that imparts good health, vitality and personal empowerment by coordinating eyes, mind, movement, and breath according to an alchemic formula that opens the heart, focuses the mind and profoundly strengthens the body.  The specific health benefits of Tao Tan Pai practice are improved circulation, respiration, digestion, metabolism, posture, balance, flexibility, peripheral vision, neuro-muscular coordination, and self-management of stress. It is comparable to a complete system of Yoga.  Because the TTP-31 series develops natural body mechanics sync’d with breath control, which provides the internal energy for Tao Tan Pai Kung Fu, its practice perfectly complements and supports any athletic activity in addition to martial arts.  Sifu Dunn is one of ten 24th generation instructors/preservers of Tao Tan Pai.

This video shows 8 of the 31 Tao Tan Pai meditations that you learn at this 16-hour  workshop spanning 2.5 days:

OCTOBER 23 – 31

III.    Tai Chi For Health – Yang style Short Form

Terry Dunn will provide students of all levels with expert instruction in the 60-posture Yang Style Tai Chi Short Form (created by his teacher, Grandmaster William C.C. Chen), Push-hands (tui-shou), and even some Tai Chi sword.  Terry’s form training utilizes GM Chen’s oral teachings that develop muscle-free movement, “toes-to-fingers energization”, understanding of Tai Chi’s “soft power” and the rare Push-hands skill known as the slow fa-jing. To accelerate your learning Tai Chi form and principles, you will also learn a wide variety of easy-to-do classical Tai Chi warm-up and conditioning exercises that Terry has distilled and developed over the past 45 years of his Tai Chi Chuan career.  By the end of the workshop, you will be able practice a very well-known and healthful Tai Chi form on your own.

In 1989, Terry Dunn produced “Tai Chi For Health Short Form” and “Long Form” videos which today are the still the most successful instructional videos in the English language, with more than 11 million units sold.
